Remembering Frankie Knuckles - The Godfather Of House Music

Frankie Knuckles

I remember Frankie Knuckles, The Godfather of House Music from Paradise Garage on 84 King Street, New York, New York and the Sound Factory.

Paradise Garage was open from 1976 to 1987. Yeah, it didn't look like much on the outside but inside you would be in a different world.

I was just starting to go out to clubs hard.

After hearing Frankie play his set, I was hooked on club and house music for ever!

At that time I didn't know he was one of the pioneers of house music.

Frankie Knuckles helped to shape the world of music as some of us more mature folks know it.

Frankie is know as the "Godfather Of House Music." He was 59 when he passed. Frankie was born in 1955 in Bronx, New York.

He was born only 5 years before me. Do the math.
